Athletes from low-socioeconomic schools ARE up to

50% MORE LIKELY to suffer fractures and 30% more likely to experience sprains. source

We believe an injury should never become a lifelong setback because of where a student attends school or what resources their family can afford.

Stop Insult 2 Injury is a student-led initiative that transforms personal experience into public advocacy by elevating student-athlete voices, connecting concerned experts, and building pathways to equitable injury care for many who are denied the support they need to recover safely and fully.

We do this in two primary ways

By amplifying student voices and real experiences

We share the stories of student-athletes who were injured and didn’t get the care they needed, making invisible inequities visible and impossible to ignore.

By connecting students to knowledge, support, and advocacy

We provide resources, expert insight, and community pathways that help students and families understand their options and push for fair injury care.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Athletes in

low-socioeconomic schools are nearly 30% more likely to sustain a sprain and over 2 times more likely to experience an ACL tear compared to higher-income counterparts.

Female student-athletes report higher injury incidences in certain studies, particularly at age 13. However, in other contexts, boys demonstrate higher overall injury rates except in specific areas like walking.

Students with disabilities are disproportionately targeted for physical restraint/seclusion, representing 78% of cases despite being only 13% of the student population.
